Navigating Grief With Compassion
Find steadiness with your grief - without feeling rushed, judged or pressured to move on.
SELF-GUIDED WORKSHOP
SELF-GUIDED WORKSHOP
Navigating Grief with Compassion is an online workshop for grief after parent loss. It helps you understand your grief without rushing yourself or trying to do it “the right way” for anyone else.
Instead of powering on at work, keeping everyone else steady and then unravelling in private, you’ll receive simple, grounded guidance on what grief actually is, how it shows up in your brain and body, and what you can do to support yourself day to day.
This self-guided workshop is for quietly capable, often over-giving adults navigating life after losing a parent – through bereavement, anticipatory loss or distance – who want practical support, not platitudes.
"I learned a lot and walked away with far more self compassion and understanding of my grief than I started with."
— Cassie Wilkins
This workshop is designed to help you build steadiness, make space for what you’re feeling, and begin to make sense of your grief.
How grief actually works
Why it’s non-linear, why you don’t “move through stages”, and why nothing’s wrong with you if it feels messy or out of order.
How to be less brutal with yourself
Simple, practical self-compassion practices you can use on hard days, anniversaries or after emotional spikes.
What your emotions are trying to tell you and what to do next
How relief, anger, sadness, numbness and guilt can all coexist after losing a parent, and how to respond to them without spiralling.
What’s happening in your brain and body in ways that explain exhaustion, fog, and emotional reactivity
Accessible, science-based insight into how grief affects your energy, focus and stress levels. Plus, ideas for gentle regulation and restoration you can actually do.
Immediate access to a gently paced, self-guided workshop, divided into four short lessons (around 10 - 15 minutes each.) You can move through these in your own time.
An optional reflection inviting you to explore connection to your parent through the things that mattered to them, such as their interests, traits, or values.
A workshop summary and action guide with helpful notes of what we covered and gentle practices per lesson, which help apply the ideas to your real life, not just understand them in theory.
Ongoing access so you can revisit the lessons or gentle practices whenever you need a steadier, more compassionate perspective on your grief.
Quiet updates for students through the option to join my private email list for workshop students and coaching clients, where I share occasional grief-related reflections and digests, gentle check-ins and early access to future resources. No spam, no constant broadcasts.

This workshop is especially helpful if you are navigating grief after the death of a parent, anticipatory loss such as dementia, or complicated family relationships and estrangement.
Yes. This workshop is designed for grief after losing a parent, including complicated relationships, mixed emotions, anticipatory loss, or distance and estrangement. You don’t need your grief to look a certain way for this to be helpful.
No. There’s no “right time” to take this workshop. It’s suitable whether your loss was recent or years ago, and where grief is still showing up in your day-to-day life.
No. This is a psychoeducational, coaching-informed workshop grounded in neuroscience, psychology, lived experience and compassionate self-support.
It’s designed to help you understand what’s happening and support yourself more gently. It doesn’t replace therapy or clinical care.
If you’re currently experiencing significant distress, risk of harm, or feel you need urgent or specialist support, this workshop may not be the right place to start. Please review the Safeguarding & Crisis Support page to understand the boundaries of this work and where to seek additional support if needed.
That’s very common. Grief doesn’t always show up as sadness. It can look like numbness, busyness, irritability, exhaustion or feeling flat.
This workshop helps make sense of all of those responses, not just visible emotion.
The workshop is gently paced and designed to increase steadiness, not overwhelm.
You’re encouraged to go at your own speed, pause when needed, and come back to the material when it feels right.
No. All reflection is optional. Some people like to write or reflect as they go, others prefer to just listen and let things land.
You can engage in a way that feels safe and manageable for you.
You’ll have ongoing access, so you can revisit the lessons whenever you need a steadier or more compassionate perspective on your grief.
Many people use this workshop as a first step. If you’d like deeper, 1:1 support after completing it, you’ll be able to explore that option, but there’s no pressure or expectation.
